A couple weekends have past and we have been continuing to go out with Joey. We went to an older campsite in Mendota - and below is the entertainment we experienced that weekend:
We had noticed at the office that there was going to be music at the barn at 7:15 PM. So around 8, we decided to walk down to the barn and listen to some music. Well, the sign said music but possibly they have a broader definition of what music is. On the stage was about 7 older people sitting on chairs. There were 6 guitars and 1 person playing a violin/piccolo. There were about 40 chairs set out and maybe 10-15 people there. We two included! When the music started – we looked at each other and honored what our parents had taught us – don’t laugh out loud if it will offend someone. Alan then leaned over and said, “I’m glad our kids can’t see us!”. These were fellow campers who had some music background and they were attempting to provide a concert. We were able to recognize most of the songs. Then this one man who appeared to be the youngest liked to “belt out” the words to a song. His voice wasn’t real awful but he did need voice lessons (he might have had a lisp) We stay seated for a bit, it was extremely obvious whenever someone would leave. It was nice these people tried to provide music – they looked like they were enjoying themselves playing their guitars. One thing that they did which was quite amusing – they would start a song and if it wasn’t going well, they would just stop and then start a different song!!! I guess we have to admit, it was entertainment.
The evening has passed and we have tucked Joey in with closing the curtains and call it a day.
