Hi, I call this my open diary because I like to write about everything and anything. My family, friends and the fun I have are sometimes very comical and interesting. Please stop by and read my page to enjoy a laugh possibly or just make you think about something. I've been married for 37 years and we have two children and five grandchildren and Norm our dog. We enjoy doing all kinds of thing and currently I'm on the South Beach Diet so I have some opinions on that too! Actually - my husband feels I have a LOT of opinions! Hope you enjoy stopping by and feel free to leave comments.
Here is an article I have written which may give you an idea how I think. The following article is about our first purchase of a Class A motorhome. We bought a Bounder which has a kangaroo painted on its side.
On August 2, 2003, we adopted Joey. We listened to a 3 hour demonstration and got to know Joey intimately. Joey was born at Crystal Lake RV, Crystal Lake, Illinois.
We then headed to Tim & Janel’s house to introduce Joey to the family. Tim liked him right away, Janel felt comfortable and Summer just wasn’t too sure of him. We also picked up Norm at Tim’s house. Norm thought Joey was strange and wasn’t sure he wanted to jump into Joey’s pouch!
Well, we were ready to take Joey on a trip and see how much fun Rving can be. Alan, Norm, Sandy, Tim, Janel and Little Summer grabbed their stuff and shut the door. We headed to Sycamore Lake Resort in Sycamore, Illinois.
The first co-pilot who was to help Alan find Sycamore Lake was Tim. We got lost. We passed the resort and turned around about 7 miles past our destination. We parked in a drive-through campsite. Nice location, great view of the lake (actually a small pond).
Alan connected the water and electricity. Everything seemed pretty good. Sandy was making sandwiches.
When Sandy turned the water on, she had to get something out of the cupboard under the sink. WATER was leaking. Alan ordered that we open another faucet to lower the pressure and he went out to shut the water off. Sandy scurried to the bathroom and turned that faucet on.
It didn’t take Alan long to figure out that the water filter was not connected properly and removed the water filter. There was minimal damage and we all felt this isn’t too bad of a catastrophe. Tim cleaned up the water under the sink, Sandy continued to make pretzel ham sandwiches. Alan went back outside and opened the water connection to Joey.
Well the next few minutes seemed pretty good, we were happy and glad to have some lunch. Well, Sandy turned her head towards the bedroom and saw an awful sight. Remember the other faucet that was turned on…..well, there was a plug in that sink. When the water was reconnected, that faucet was just running. We now had a river flowing out of the bathroom!!! Tim ran into the bathroom and shut the faucet off and started wiping down everything. We grabbed everyone’s towels and started cleaning up. Fortunately Tim had brought their fan thinking it might be hot. So we were able to use the fan to dry the small portion of the carpet that got wet.
Okay, none of this was Joey’s fault so once things got settled down and dried, we felt like it was a good trip and that we all kind of enjoyed Joey. Our maiden voyage was not too traumatic but a little more “wet” than anticipated.
I'll be back with more! Have a great day.
